Our story
A boutique international film festival, with an Italian soul.
West London Film Festival · Since 2024
The West London Film Festival began in 2024 with a simple belief: that great short films from anywhere in the world deserve a great room and a real audience. We launched at The Chiswick Cinema, returned at Ealing Picturehouse, and along the way built something we are proud of, a growing community of filmmakers and film lovers.
We are international by design. We accept entries from all over the world, exclusively through FilmFreeway, and we programme across twelve categories, from drama and documentary to animation, horror and music video. We also keep a deliberate soft spot for Italian cinema, a tradition that taught the rest of the medium to look at ordinary life with seriousness and grace.
We’re already thinking about what comes next, how to make the room bigger, the programme sharper, and the whole experience feel even more like ours. We’ll share more when there’s more to share. For now, the doors are open to filmmakers.
What we care about is the encounter: a film nobody has heard of, a full house, and an honest conversation afterwards.
